William resided first in Mansfield, later in Brewer (now Holden), Me. He married Silence Lane on 7 Mar 1802. She was born in Mansfield, daughter of Joseph and Silence (Witherell) Lane. She died in Holden, Me., on 22 Aug 1853. They had seven children all born in Brewer (now Holden), Me.:[1]
1) Hannah 7 Copeland, b. Feb. 21, 1803.
2) Silence Lane Copeland, b. June 14, 1804.
3) William Copeland, b. Feb. 6, 1806.
4) Sophronia Copeland, b. Nov. 23, 1807.
5) Eliza Ann Copeland, b. Sept. 14, 1810.
6) Adoniram Judson Copeland, b. March 10, 1814 ; graduated from Bowdoin College (Me.), also from Bangor Theological Seminary in the class of 1843. He was ordained in 1845, and spent his life as a missionary in Aroostook county, Me., and in Geneseo and Como, Ill. He married Priscilla Smalley March 10, 1850, and died at Geneseo, Ill., Aug. 3, 1855.
7) Benjamin Franklin Copelaud, b. April 29, 1819.
William died in Brewer (now Holden), Me., on 10 Feb 1849.
