Mrs. Julia Copeland of Rinehart was the recipient of a novel holiday package which came by express from her son, E.R. Copeland who is now living near Los Angeles Calif. Besides gifts of an ordinary nature, the package contained fresh head lettuce and radishes from Mr. Copeland’s garden also a large bouquet of roses and other flowers taken from his yard. The lettuce resembled heads of cabbage, some of them measuring twenty inches in diameter after the outside leaves were off, and the quality was excellent. It will be remembered that Mr. Copeland and family moved from Rinehart to California about eight years ago where he purchased a fruit ranch about eight miles from Los Angeles.
