Charles was born on May 8, 1935, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. He was the son of James Copeland and Cordia Bailey.
In the 1940 census taken on April 10th, Charles was living with his parents, sister, and paternal grandparents on 535 Berger Street in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. His father rented their home for $10 monthly.[1]
In 1949, Charles and his family moved to the Auburndale, Florida, area. In 1952, he married Frances Earlene Nabors in Polk County, Florida.[2]
Charles worked as a boilermaker in the Phosphate Mining Industry and was a member of Orange Street Church of Christ in Auburndale.
He passed away on June 25, 2019, in Auburndale, and was buried in the Auburndale Memorial Gardens on June 27th.[3]
