Biography

Two property transactions name her as Ann, the wife of John Franklin of Thurleigh. The profile doesn't show how her maiden name was proved.

In a grant dated 14 Apr 1560 Grant, for a certain sum: Robert Taylor of Stevington, yeoman, and wife Dorothy, to John Francklyn of Thurleigh, yeoman, and wife Anne. A tenement called the White Horse in St Paul's Parish, Bedford.[1] So establishing his wife's given name.


John Francklyn of Thurleigh, gentleman, conveyed to son George of the Middle Temple, gentleman, son of said John and Ann all his messuages and lands in Bolnhurst, Campton, Shefford, Cople, Clophill, Clapham, Bedford, and Cardington; to the use of John during life; then to George and his heirs; reversion to younger sons John, Edward and Thomas.Date 22 Nov 1572 [2]
