Biography

Arthur Britcher Coppins was born in 1774 in Egerton, Kent, England to Joseph Coppins and Ann. He was christened in Egerton on 11 Sep 1774.^[1]

Arthur Coppins married the widow Anne Lowder (nee How) on 18 Nov 1796 in Lenham, Kent.^[2]

Arthur and Anne had two sons: Richard Coppins (1797-1884) and Arthur Coppins (1798-1798).

Arthur's wife Anne Coppins passed away in June 1798.^[3]

Arthur Coppins married Elizabeth Feakins on 6 Apr 1799 at St Mary's, Chatham, Kent.^[4]

Arthur and Elizabeth had at least nine children: Harriet Coppins (1800-), Louisa Coppins (1801-), Arthur Coppins (1802-1803), Arthur Thomas Coppins (1805-1807), Elizabeth Ellen Coppins (1806-), George Coppins (1808-), Laura Coppins (1810-), William Coppins (1811-), and Henry Coppins (c1815-).

Arthur's wife Elizabeth Coppins passed away in 1839.^[5]

In 1841 Arthur Coppins (age 65-69) lived at Harrietsham Road North Side in Lenham with two of his sons: William (30-34) and Henry (25-29).^[6]

In 1851 Arthur Coppins (age 76, Late Wheelwright Alms House) lived West of Road in Lenham, Kent.^[7]

Arthur Britcher Coppins passed away in January 1855, aged 80 years. His death was registered in Hollingbourne, Kent in the first quarter of the year.^[8] He was buried in Lenham on 15 Jan 1855.^[9]
