Biography

John was a Friend (Quaker)

BURIAL Bush River Quaker Cemetery Newberry, Newberry County, South Carolina, USA PLOT 117

Somehow both John and brother Moses William are said to have been born in 1736, just a few months from each other. Obviously one date must be in error, but the error has been copied many times by others. It may take awhile to find evidence for the correct dates.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

I believe Abigail Schellinger and Lydia Skillern were probably the same person. I have even seen Abigail L. Schellinger or Skillern on early records.
