Giovanni Coppola was featured in Italians in Haverhill.
Giovanni was born on July 16th, 1875 in San Pietro a Maida, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s. He married Natalina Marinaro some time in 1897. Tragically, they lost one child in an earthquake which heavily impacted the region they grew up in. The family moved to Haverhill, Massachusetts where they settled and raised a family with many children including:
Angelina
Frank
Bruno
Mary
Concetta
At some point in time, likely in the early 1900s, he paid the way for two of his first cousins to come to America. Their names were Rosamaria Stella and Marianna Stella.
John worked in shoe shops in town and by 1915 he had opened a grocery store on High Street.
He passed away in 1960 in the city of Haverhill.
