Biography

The biography for L.M. Corbett is empty because she's too busy writing bios for her ancestors. Maybe one of these days, she'll write a little something about herself.

If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
Would you be proud of them
Or don't you really know?
Some strange discoveries are made
In climbing family trees
And some of them, you know, do not
Particularly please.

If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them perhaps
You wouldn't care to know.
But there's another question which
Requires a different view:
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?

Hello cousin,

I see your tree is leading you into Québécois project era, so you should get familiar with the existing guidelines on names and place names on the project page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If the profile needs GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hi Lisa. Thanks for picking up on Viola Hutchings being the daughter of David and granddaughter of Jane Brake Hutchings. I have amended Jane's profile to reflect the change. The 1900 Census had confused me as it stated that Viola was Jane's daughter. I did ponder briefly at the time because of the long gap between births, but I expect I was working late in the evening (as I often do) and let it slip!!

Are you by any chance related to this family? I am (very distantly) related through Jane's brother Charles, who was the grandfather of my maternal grandmother. I traced them from Seavington St Michael in Somerset, England. Thanks again Cherryl

Thanks for bringing my error with the Gregory/Benedicts to my attention - I gave up trying to figure out the initial error which created even more. Talk about being your own grandfather :) It should be correct now with siblings and parents in their proper relationships.

Thank you Lisa for correcting a careless mistake I made in making the mother of George Washington Ferguson Sr also one of his spouses. It's a reminder to me of how precious is the trust I hold in doing justice to the memory of my relatives' lives. Thank you again.

Hi Lisa, You were too quick for me. In the time I found a birth Source for Glenton-59 you proposed a merge with Glenton-38.

Best wishes Doreen

HI Lisa! I know that the Keziahs seem like duplicates but they are two different people. I have spent a ton of time trying to clarify them with correct families, keeping generations correct and many more tangles.

They are cousins and siblings, etc. Bear with me please. The hard part is that there are so many Daniels and they married cousins, etc. BUT I WILL BE back to work asap! If you care to be a "monitor" and check up on me I sure wouldn't mind! Thanks for contacting! Barb Breece-42

Lisa!! Thank you so much for helping to straighten out my Anna Marie Holler mess!! I have tried repeatedly to remove her from two consecutive generations, but for some reason I was never successful. It was sooo frustrating and discouraging. So glad to get it resolved!

Thank you so much for catching the erroneous update of gender because someone arbitrarily decided "Wilber" should be a guy's name. Really appreciate your eye for detail! <3

Thank you for correcting the wife/mother/grandmother issue of Nancy Noel (Smith) McCullough. I do not know how I managed to make that error as I know who is who (whom is whom?) this close to me (Nancy is my 2nd great grandmother). Again, thank you.
Thankyou Lisa for the corrections. I may have noticed them but then again. It's good to have other people noticing these small but important things.

Hi Lisa,

Lisa Matos-69 and 70 could be the same person. The only thing is that the marriage date guess might be wrong as that would make her 10 years-old! Unless, of course, her date of birth is incorrect which is more likely. As for your Irish ancestor you might want to have a look at the Irish colony in the town of Pelotas in the South of Brazil, close to the Uruguay border? Many Irish people migrate there and a lot of them together with the British worked in the construction of the railway in Argentina, Uruguay and south of Brazil. Anna
