Thomas was born at Camden Haven about 1875. He passed away about 1941. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Corbett of the Barrington. He returned to the Barrington area where he remained for the rest of his life. Tom as he was familiarly known to a very wide circle of friends, was experienced man amongst horses and cattle. He was manager of Giro Station for some years, for the late W. H. Mackay and later looked after a property at Bowman Farm for the same family. While at Giro many years ago he was severely injured by being caught in a crush by a bull, a horn penetrating his lung. That experience and another fall from a horse he later received when he injured his neck did much to undermine his health. Some 12 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Corbett went into business in Gloucester, establishing the Sunshine Cafe, which has been carried on by them ever since. He was a keen sports man.
He married Miss Mary Tout, a daughter of the late Owen Tout, finder of the rich Mount Owen gold mine on the Mummell River, and of Mrs. Tout, of Gloucester.
They had 5 children
