John Farwell aka John Corbin/Corbon/Corbyn was born in 1840 in Abbotsbury, Dorset, England to Mary Farwell. His father was William Corbin/Corbon, who his mother married in 1841. His birth was registered (as John Corbyn) in the first quarter of 1840 in Weymouth, Dorset.[1]
In 1841 John Forwell (age 1) lived in Abbotsbury with his mother Mary Forwell (50-54) and brother Thomas Forwell (3) in the household of William Corbin (40-44), along with William's three children from his first marriage: George Corbin (12), Elizabeth Corbin (10), and Emma Corbin (8).[2]
John's parents, William Corbin and Mary Farwell, were married on 12 Jul 1841 in Abbotsbury.[3]
In 1851 John Corben (age 11, Labourer) lived in Abbotsbury with his father William (51, Cord Winder), mother Mary (41), and three siblings: Thomas (13, Labourer), Jane (9, Labourer), and William (7, Scholar).[4]
In 1861 John Corban (age 23, Ordinary Seaman) was with the Royal Navy at Sea and in Ports Abroad[5] - at Corfu on the Algiers[citation needed].
John Corbin (son of William Corbin) married Elizabeth Emblen Mundy on 2 Sep 1867 in Abbotsbury, Dorset.[6] The marriage was registered in Weymouth, Dorset in the third quarter of the year.[7]
In 1871 John Corbon (age 31, Captain) was with the Royal Navy at Sea[8] - at Grassy Bay, Bermuda, captain of the forecastle, the Royal Alfred[citation needed]. His wife Elizabeth E Corben (26, Seaman's wife) was living with her parents in Abbotsbury.
John Corbon passed away between 1878 and 1881.
