I am adopted. In the New York Public Library Genealogy Section, I found my name listed as: Cordisco, Joseph Anthony. I was adopted at approximately 6 weeks of age from the Foundling Hospital, in New York. My biological mother named me Joseph Anthony. My adopted father legally kept these two names, adding his first name Laurence as my first name. I grew up on Long Island. After twenty years of searching, I found my biological parents. I did this with the help of a lawyer who unsealed the records in New York State, as well as a Search Assistant living in Texas who walked me through the steps to find my parents, and using laws of the State of New York which permit the release of non-identifying information about biological parents. My father's name is Charles Peters of West Virginia.
