Transcript Watertown Daily Times Watertown N.Y. Wednesday March 15, 1967 City Woman Dies at 75 Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Corey Thurston 75, of 236 East Moulton Street, widow of Byard F. Thurston, died at 8:20 Tuesday evening in the Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient since late Monday evening. Ill for a long period of time, Mrs. Thurston had been a patient in the hospital on two other occasions since September. She had been afflicted with arthritis, a heart condition an pneumonia. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 at Reid & Benoit funeral home, Rev. Ebbe R. Arvidson, pastor of the Hope Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery. Surviving are three sons, Earl N. Thurston, 236 East Moulton Street, Edward F. Thurston, 244 Flower Avenue East and Charles W. Thurston, Pico Rivera, California; two grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters, Wilford A. Corey, 165 union Street, G. Manford Corey, Gifford Street Road, Charles H. Corey, Brownville, James Corey, Napanee Ont., John Corey also of Ontario Can., Mrs. James (Ethel) Peterson Kingston, Ont. and Mrs. Earl (Bertha) Youngs, Perth Road Ont. She was born at Perth Road, Ont., December 2, 1891, a daughter of William and Nancy Wood Corey. She was married to Byard F Thurston, also of Perth Road on January 7, 1907 at Wilmer, Ont. For a time Mr. & Mrs. Thurston lived at Brownville. Later she came to this city, where she had since resided. A resident of this city the greater part of her life, she was a former chambermaid at the Hotel Woodruff and a former employee of Gibsons Laundry. She and her husband were legally seperated in 1937. He died in the Jefferson County hospital December 5, 1951 at the age of 69. Detail Watertown Daily Times Obituary
