I doubt that he is the son of Samuel Cory and Mary Bingham. I have extensive information on them and they lived in Gilsum, New Hampshire. DNA comparison to mine would be a good place to start.

I have quite a bit of information on Samuel Cory and his wife Parnel Brockway. His marriage certificate says he lived in Moriah NY in 1810. His son John D. said his father was born in Conn. and a 1850 census from California (gold rush) which I believe to be his says he was born on Conn. otherwise I am looking for the name of his father and mother. There were quite a few Cory/coreys in New York around 1800 and in the 1810 census there is a Samuel Cary in Moriah NY who has a son who has the proper age for the younger Samuel.
