Elsie Beatrice Corn was born on 2 Aug 1889 in Indiana.[1] She was the daughter of Samuel G. Corn and Dorothy Hoyle.[2]

Corn (age 11, born Aug 1899 in Indiana) was living in Pierce Township, Washington County, Indiana in the household of her father, Samuel Corn (age 62, born North Carolina), with her mother, Dorothy Corn (age 55), and her Corn siblings, born Indiana (age, sex): i) Caleb B. (25, M), ii) Rhoda (23, F, sister-in-law), iii) John R. B. (18, M). Samuel's occupation was a farmer. Dorothy had born 10 children, all of whom were currently living.
On 1 Aug 1908 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky,[3] [4] Elsie Corn married Gale Hiestand.
In 1910,[5] Elsie Hiestand (age 20, born Indiana) was living in Jackson Township, Washington County, Indiana in the household of her husband of 2 years, Raymond Hiestand (age 26, born Indiana). Raymond's occupation was a farm laborer. Elsie had born 1 child, who was currently living. Note: the census record does list the name of a child for Raymond and Elsie.
On 24 Jan 1915 in Lake City, Calhoun County, Iowa,[6] Elsie Corn, wife of Ray Heastend [sic], gave birth to a son, Dale Malted Heastend [sic]. This was the 2nd child for Elsie and Ray. Ray's occupation was recorded as an engineer.
In 1920,[7] Elsie Hiestand (age 30, born Indiana) was living in Jackson Township, Washington County, Indiana in the household of her husband, Ray Hiestand (age 36, born Indiana), with their Hiestand children (age, sex, birthplace): i) Glenn (10, M, Indiana), ii) Dale (4, M, Iowa), iii) Max (2, M, Iowa). Ray's occupation was a grain farmer.
In 1930,[8] Elsie Hiestand (age 40, born Indiana) was living at 1302 South Madison Street, Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana in the household of her husband, Ray G. Hiestand (age 47, born Indiana), and their Hiestand children (age, sex, birthplace): i) Glenn W. (20, M, Indiana), ii) Dale M. (15, M, Iowa), iii) Max E. (13, M, Iowa). Ray's occupation was a stationary fireman in the railroad roundhouse.
In 1940,[9] Elsie Hiestand (age 50, born Indiana) was living in Bloomington, Perry Township, Monroe County, Indiana in the household of her husband, Raymond G. Hiestand (age 56, born Indiana), and with their son, Max Hiestand (age 23, born Iowa). Raymond's occupation was a fireman.
In 1950,[10] Elsie Hiestand (age 60, born Indiana) was living at 244 South Park, Perry, Monroe County, Indiana in the household of her husband, Raymond Heistand [sic] (age 66, born Indiana). No occupation was listed for Raymond or Elsie.
On 16 Jun 1960,[1] Elsie Beatrice (Corn) Hiestand, died in Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana. Elsie's usual address had been 1203 South Park Avenue, in rural Monroe County, Indiana. The cause of death was chronic myocardial disease. Elsie was married at the time of her death. Elsie was born on 2 Aug 1889 in Indiana; her father was Samuel G. Corn. The informant for Elsie's death certificate was her son, Dale Hiestand, who resided at 508 South Street, Bedford, Indiana.
