Biography

Abner Cornelius was born about 1802 in Greenville County South Carolina USA. He was the son of William Cornelius and Lettice Cargile. He passed away on July 27, 1881 in New Castle, Jefferson County, Alabama, USA.


Abner was the youngest child born to William and Lettice Cornelius. He married Susan McPherson about 1824. Ten known children were born to this couple: Lettie, McPherson, William Marion, Susan, Elizabeth, Cincnnati, Abner Jr, Sinsana, Barton, and Thomas Britton. Abner is found in the following census records:
