Irene F. Millar, 78, of 1 Factory St., died Thursday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where she had been a patient since Tuesday.

Mrs. Millar was a line server with Aramark Corp., Dining Service Division, at Clarkson University, for 32 years.

Born Sept. 8, 1923, in Canton, a daughter of Alfred and Hilda Barker Cornell, she married Elwood E. Miller on Oct. 21, 1941, in Fort Jackson. Mr. Millar died April 20, 1982.

She enjoyed working around her home and flower garden.

Surviving are a son, Robert E., North Lawrence; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon and Robert Compo, Winthrop, Glenda J. and William Chambers, Brasher Falls, and Bonnie Millar, Staten Island; a sister, Joan Pollock, address unknown; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Sherman Cornell, and two sisters, Barbara Rann and Shirley Winn, died before her.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Tarantelli officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Rest Cemetery, Bombay.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Tri-Town Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Irene F. Millar, 78, of Factory Street in North Lawrence, N.Y., died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, in Potsdam, N.Y. She had been a patient there since October 2.

She was born in Canton, N.Y., on Sept. 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Alfred and Hilda (Barker) Cornell.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in North Lawrence. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Carl Tarantelli officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Rest Cemetery in Bombay, N.Y.
