Myrtle Lydia Cornell was born in 1916 in Victoria, Australia. She was a daughter of John Cornell and Catherine Vauticich.[1]
She married William Thomas in 1939 in Victoria.[2]
She married widower, George Ingram VC MM, a veteran of both The Great and Second World Wars, on 24th December 1951 in Brunswick Methodist Church, Victoria, Australia.[3] George had three young adult children from his previous marriage. Together, Myrtle and George had one further son:
