Thomas was born in 1837, the son of Gilliam Cornell (1808–1885) and Mary Ann Finney (1813–1879).
He married Eliza Jane Hellings (1842–1907). They had the following children:
Oscar Purdy Cornell 1873–1873
Catherine Hellings Cornell 1878–1948
Mary Ann Cornell 1878–1962
He passed away in 1916. Burial: North and Southampton Churchyard, Churchville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
CORNELL – On May 8, 1916, T. ALLEN, husband of the late Eliza J. Cornell, in his 79th year. Relatives and friends, also Eagle Lodge, No. 222, I. O. O. F., are invited to attend funeral, on Thursday, May 11, at 2.30 P. M., from the residence of his son-in-law, Charles L. Finney, Cornell, Pa. Interment Churchville Cemetery. Carriages will meet train leaving Reading Terminal 1.23 P. M. at Churchville Station.
