Donald Leonard Corner, age 85, of Motley, died early Friday morning, July 14, 2006 in St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples, with family receiving friends on Wed from 5-7 at Brenny Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Brenny Funeral Home of Staples. Donald Leonard Corner was born on April 10, 1921 to Clifford and Alice (Miller) Corner in Freeborn County, Albert Lea, Minnesota. He attended school in Freeborn for three years, and moved with his family to the Motley area. He continued his education through the 8th grade at Bridgeman Country School in Cass County. He served his country in the US Army as a Corporal in the 7th Calvary. He was united in marriage to Viola Fornshell on July 13, 1940, enjoying 56 years together until her death in 1996. He worked as heavy equipment operator on road construction and farmed most of his life. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his children, James (Pam) Corner of Deland, Fl., Ronald (Sally) Corner of Bethel, William (Barbara ) Corner, Breezy Pt, Wendy (Harold) Boser, Little Falls, and Merry Stern of Brainerd; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.[1]
