William was born about 1828 in Honiton, Devon, England. He was baptized on 27th Feb 1828 in Honiton-on-Otter. He married Jane Otton in 1851 in Exeter, Devon, England. They had about 6 children - William Henry, Mary Ann, Edward Christopher, George, Mercy Jane and Alfred. He lived in Honiton, Devon with his wife and children. He was a postboy, a coachman and later an Innkeeper. He passed away in 1915 in Honiton, Devon.
