Methuen?
The old Beverly town clerk compiled family record includes notation, "Benja Corning of Methuen, being sick at Lieut. Raymonds is chr by Mr Chipman, July 21, 1746."[18] Rev. John Chipman was pastor of Beverly 2nd Church from 1715 to his death in 1775 (Historic Beverly); this record may come from that church's archives. The reference to "Methuen" is not appreciated. A search of Historical Sketch of Methuen from its settlement ... (1876), returned no results for "Corning," "Raymond" or "Rayment" (Hathi Trust).
