He lived with his parents and siblings in the town of Onondaga, Onondaga County, New York.[2][3][4] In 1875 his sister Susan and her husband Albert Vine were living with them.[5]
In March of 1877 he was named in the probate notice for Joel Cornish.[6]
In 1880 he was living with his parents Charles and Mary in the town of Onondaga, Onondaga County, New York and attending school, as were his siblings Susan, Fletcher Joel, and William.[7]
He married Minerva Albright 25 Dec 1899 in Gasport, New York.[8][9]
In 1892 he was age 36 working as a brakeman for the railroad, and lived in the town of DeWitt, Onondaga County, New York along with MInerva age 33 and Roy age 2.[10] In 1900 he was living in DeWitt Township, East Syracuse village, Onondaga, New York, working as a brakeman for the railroad. His household included his wife Minerva, age 43, his son Leroy H age 10, and his mother in law Laura A Albright age 76.[11]
He was employed by the NYC & HR Railroad, and was killed in an accident on the road at Lockport, New York on 29 Nov 1904.[12][13] His death was reported in The Post Standard, Syracuse, New York:[14]

Cut to pieces by the wheels of his train, the remains of Mark Cornish of Dewitt, a New York Central freight conductor, were found early last evening at Lockport. The head and an arm were severed from the body.
