Biography

Hope Corpe was born in 8 Nov 1681 in Bristol County, RI, son of John Corpe and wife Deliverance.[1] Entry notes he was the first white child "born in this town."[2]

He passed away in 1762. Will was presented along with an inventory to the Cranston Town Council on 8 April 1765.[3] It was finally proved on 30 September.[4] It mentions:

  • daughter Phebe Pike (executrix)
  • son William, and two grandsons, unnamed, sons of William by his second wife
  • son-in-law John Kings and his two daughters (unnamed)
  • grandson William Corpe
  • son John Corpe
