William Carter Locke Correll was born in Fulton County, Pennsylvania on June 25, 1854. He was the son of Joseph William Correll and Rhoda Mellott.
In 1860 and 1870, William was living with his parents and siblings in Belfast, Fulton, Pennsylvania.[1][2]
William married Amy Gordon in McConnellsburg, Fulton, Pennsylvania, about 1876. They had five children - Ira Augustus, Edwin Guy, Precious Bertye, William Foss, and Margaret (died young).
William was a Methodist minister, so the family moved with some frequency. In 1880, the family was located in Robinsonville, Bedford, Pennsylvania.[3] In 1900, they were in Rowlett, Hart, Kentucky, while in 1910 they were located in Logan, Hocking, Ohio.[4][5] In 1920, they had moved on to Matoaca, Chesterfield, Virginia.[6]
Amy died in 1928. In 1930 and 1940, William lived with his son George in Matoaca, Chesterfield, Virginia.[7][8]
William reached 87 years of age and died in Matoaca, Chesterfield, Virginia, on February 18, 1942.[9][10] He was buried at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Independent Cities, Virginia.[11]
