If you go to the 1900 manifest for Michelina and navigate to the back of the page (a couple of images over), you'll see that she boarded in Napoli (Naples). The ship had passengers from Sicily as well so it likely sailed from Palermo to Napoli and then to Marseilles before crossing the ocean.
