Birth

Paul Joseph Coskey was born on 30 May 1875 in Lubocien, Kuyavia-Pomerania, Poland to Thomas Szlachcikowski (1847-1935) and Marianna Lepek (1850-1936). The surname changed during his generation. The United States Federal Census still has the Polish names.[1]

Immigration

Paul Schlashzikersky departed from Bremen, Germany on the Main and arrived in New York, New York, United States on 10 April 1884. He sailed with his parents and 2 younger sisters. He was 9 at the time.

Marriage and Family

He married twice.

  1. Frances Lucille Labiak (1877-1963) on 25 November 1895 at the Saint Stanislaus Church in Bay City, Bay, Michigan. She was also born in Poland of Polish parents. They divorced on 12 May 1941 in Wayne County, Michigan.
  2. Estelle Jatctczak (1895-1963) on 19 January 1942 in Steuben County, Indiana, United States. Her surname at the time of marriage was Sparks. She was a widow whose husband died in August 1921.

  1. Wanda Valida (later Virginia) Coskey was born on 28 September 1896 in Bay City, Bay, Michigan, United States. She married Philip Fobert (1894-1967) on 4 September 1915 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. Wanda died on 25 May 1978. She was Valida on the 1900 Census.
  2. Leon Joseph Coskey, known as Leo, was born on 14 September 1898 in Bay City, Bay, Michigan, United States. He died on 15 April 1918 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States. He was unmarried. Leo was Leon in the 1900 Census.
  3. Edward Paul Coskey was born on 12 May 1901 in Bay City, Bay, Michigan, United States. He married Bertha Lee Graf (1901-1984) on 6 May 1922 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. Edward died on 20 April 1983 in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw, Michigan, United States.

Death

Paul died on 24 October 1964 in Saint Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida, United States at the age of 89. He was buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida. Find A Grave: Memorial #120453708
