I'm working on Kierstead/Keirstead families.
The Death Certificates for KIERSTEAD, ELIZABETH (nee Cosman) (28 Nov 1846 - 19 Feb 1931) names her parents as [Father: James Cosman (b. NB) and Mother: Mary Gorham (b. NB)]
This means that James Cosman's wife was Mary Gorham.
N236James applied for and was granted land, recorded in the Crown Land Grant Index: "James T. Cosman, 6 N Head of Studholm Mill Stream, Parish of Sussex, Kings Co., 100 acres, 1840/06/04, Vol. 25, #2332". Vital Statistics from New Brunswick Newspapers, 1867-8 #2152 (April Religious Intelligencer): d. Upper Millstream, Havelock, Kings Co., 15th inst. of consumption, James T. Cosman; left wife, sons and 4 daughters
Darlene Love (kindredkonnections.com) has James death date as Apr 5, 1857.
Research by Douglas Ivan Cosman:
The eldest, James Thomas, the third, Barbara Ann Gorham, and the fourth, John Nelson, together with their families moved to the then developing area just beyong the head of the Millstream parish and were granted properties now known as Roy Cosman's place, The Frazee place, and the Gregg farm(?). Some time later John Nelson or his family sold to the Gregg family and purchased part of what is now known as Kenneth Cosman's farm.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
