Biography
Baptized 29 Jan 1736 in St-Germain cathedral of Rimouski, he had been given lay baptism at birth by his grandfather Jean-Baptiste Côté, seigneur de l'île Verte. This supplemental baptism was attended by Joseph Bouchard as godfather, and Louise Brien as godmother. The priest was the only one who could sign: Charles Barbel.
He was the son of Gabriel Côté and Élisabeth Bernier.
He dies in Nov 15th 1815 in L'Isle Verte, said to be around 80 on his funeral record of the 16th, noting him as a former farmer of that parish. Present were Gabriel Côté and Anselme Côté
