Biography

(Harry) Arthur Cotter was born October 7, 1881 in Republic, Greene County, Missouri, a son of John Marion Cotter and Virginia Alice Wilson. He married first in 1899 Mecie Beatrice “Joie” Myers (1877-1904), daughter of Charles B. Myers and Sarah Ann Cox. They had two children: John Myers Cotter and Elma Bea Cotter. Arthur married second in 1921 Ida C. Stinecipher (1876-1960). He was a veteran of the Spanish American War, serving in the Philippines as a private in Company H, 5th Regiment, Missouri Infantry. Arthur died June 16, 1954 and was buried at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, Dallas County, Missouri. His second wife, Ida, was interred beside him when she passed away in 1960.
