When Angeline Cotton was born on April 17, 1840, in Alabama, her father, Peter, was 26, and her mother, Linca, was 23. She was married three times, first to Thomas T. Martin (1836–1863) on November 2, 1858 in Talladega County, Alabama;[1] they had at least two children:
She remarried on May 3, 1864 to John T. Hughes[3][4] and on April 29, 1872 she married William C. Crisswell (1849–1930) in Calhoun County, Alabama.[5] She died on February 2, 1900, in Lawrence, Texas, at the age of 59, and was buried in Terrell, Texas.[6]
