Lowther and Arrena Miner Cottrill had a love of family and togetherness.
Children for generations to come were named after Arrena/Arominer
I remember seeing a census with Sarahetta & Arominer in Charles City but that has also vanished and there is nothing left in the computers on Lowther Cottrill/Cottrell & Arrena/Arominer on Ancestry!! Over the years the records have either been lost in the computer or deleted from the archives!?
Before 2005 there was quite a bit of information on Lowther and now there are 2 census and his War of 1812 records.
Their children were:
1. Alexander Cottrill 1815–1874 m Virginia Ann Switzer [1]
2. Grace A Cottrill Riggs 1817–1905 m William C Riggs [2]
3. Pearson Broaddus Cottrill 1820–1905 m Mariah Huffman [3]
4. Elizabeth Anne Cottrill 1820–1888 m Nathan D Stout [4]
5. Smith William Cottrill 1823–1901 m Mary "Polly" White [5]
6. William Henry Cottrill 1825–1901 m Ruhama Stout [6]
7. Benjamin Holden Cottrill 1831–1870 m Amanda Townsend [7]
8. Caroline Manerva Cottrill 1831–1911 m Oliver Commodore Perry Collins [8]
9. Jemima Cottrill 1839–1880 m Pericle John Lynch Jan 6 1876 (his second wife) [9]
Research Note
There may be sons Samuel and Lowther Jr
In the 1840 census Lowther had two sons 10-15 (Benjamin b 1831 and William H b 1825) and one 15-20 ( Smith b 1823) and he was 30-40 y/o. He had 1 under 5 (Jemima b 1839), one 5-10 (Caroline b 1831), one 10-15 (perhaps died), 1 15-20 (Elizabeth b 1820, 1 20-30 (Grace b 1817) and the wife 30-40 y/o.
In the 1830 census Lowther had 1 under five ((Benjamin b 1831), 2 5-10 (William H b 1825, Smith b 1823) 1 10-15 (Pearson b 1820) ( 1 15-20 (Alexander b 1815).
Pearson married in 1843 and is present in the 1830 census, Alexander was married in 1839 and not on the 1840 census of the family. In the 1830 census there is a female child noted in the 10-15 age group which may have been Pearson who was 10 in the 1830 census.
Given the comparison of the two censuses Samuel and Lowther Jr were not their sons.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Lowther by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Lowther:
