Levi was born in Jun 1820 in Edwards County, Illinois according to Family Search #29CN-B1G.
Levi married Siddy C Ruark on 19 Mar 1842 in Lawrence Co., IL. There is some controversy in the name of Levi's spouse. The handwritten documentation found in the census reports goes from Siddy, to Liddy, to City and then Lidy. The marriage record of one of their children refers to her as Lidy. It may all be a nickname for Lydia or Cynthia and census takers just wrote phonetically. [2][3][4]. Levi and Siddy/Liddy had five children. Martin died young before any census reports. John W is listed on the 1850 census (see below). Nancy, Levi, and James are included in the 1860 census [5].
