Biography

I was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1983. I attended schools in Auburn and Manchester. I attended Lesley College (now Lesley University) and Saint Joseph College (now University of Saint Joseph), attaining a bachelor's degree in science, nutrition.

In 2017, I achieved my goal of proving my patriot lineage and joined the Daughters of the American Revolution. My local chapter at the time was the Jesse Leavenworth in Leavenworth, KS. My friend Alice Hall helped me immensely and I'm forever grateful to her for helping me achieve my goal.

My dad's Coughlan-47 ancestry is exclusively Irish. I've found it difficult to nail down where exactly most of my Irish roots are, due to their very common names. I would love to know more.

My mom's Hartnett-245 ancestry is more American. Her father's side is Irish. Her mother's side is old Vermont families and New Hampshirites; and further back, England and some Canadians.

Hi Mary Ellen,

Please remove the category Pomeranian Voivodeship from https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kujawski-17 profile. It's a high level category and profiles need to be placed in village categories.

Thanks,

Hi Mary Ellen

Silas Buss and Hannah Pierce are in my family tree. I'm not comfortable enough with Hannah's info to post it yet. I believe she married Silas in 1770 in Lunenburg Mass and I found a Find-a-grave entry for her in Temple NH, but there are other posts that have her buried in Hadley Mass.

Let me know if you find anything. Thanks Karen

Hi Mary Ellen, your doing a great job on the Challenge, I just wanted to remind you about the Challenge Tracker, it's not automotive like the Connect-a-Thon, instead you need to click the Challenge Tracker to keep track of the profiles you've created. Here is the instructions from the Challenge Page:

When you've finished creating a profile and click "Proceed to Create New Profile", a green banner appears at the top of the profile edit page with a dark “button” labeled "Challenge Tracker", this is a link to the Tracker page. Click the link and, on the page that comes up, select US Civil War challenge and add comment: "Created Profile". Click "Add Action" and you are finished. The Tracker records the number of profiles you've added.

Hi Mary Ellen,

Have you ever considered participating in one of WikiTree's Connect-A-Thons? It's a great opportunity to add new profiles, whether they are extended family members or someone who fits into of one of your projects. The next one will run from Friday, April 22nd to Monday, April 25th.

If you are interested in participating, you can sign up in the G2G forum registration post (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1392037) and add another badge to your collection. I invite you to join the Mid-Atlantic Team since I notice you have roots in New York and Connecticut. You are not limited to adding profiles for only this region, of course. Hope you'll consider joining the fun!

Mary Ellen,

Thank you for contributing to the January 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.

Mary Ellen, you are added as manager of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Andross-5. I will send you a private message with the steps to do when adding relatives.. As I mentioned, the names of the wife and the children with a source are in the Biography for Miles Andross. It is good to look for additional sources, as at times, a source link fails.

Thanks for the interest in one of the Alamo Defenders.

Hi Miles Andross is PPP (Project Protected). This means it cannot be edited or merged away.

Ok, thank you. How can we add his children, wife, and the rest of his siblings?
posted by Mary Ellen Coughlan
Mary Ellen, send me your email address that WikiTree recognizes, by private wikiTree message. I will add it to the profile. That will put you as trusted access. Then you can create the wife, and Children of Miles. (I am maxed out on number of profiles to have as recently inherited 3000 from a friend that died. )

You have to go slow, and use sources even for the wife, children. Their information is listed in the biography. Save often. Be sure to add sources for the wife and children. You will find the info I found for wife and children in the Biography.

Thanks for your help with https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Brown-32808 and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Shearman-830, etc Can you please add the sources you found for the parents you added? Also https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williams-107198

Please remember that when adding relationships you need to add the sources, especially when working Project managed profiles. Those sources should be primary sources, such as birth/death/marriage records.

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

You've been here for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better.

You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Welcome to the 1776 Project (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:1776), a subproject of the Military and War Project: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects#Military_and_War_Project

There are category links to add to your ancestor's profiles and research links to learn more about your family. The Project is a good way to consolidate the WikiTree ancestors with historic connections to the years of 1773 (Boston Tea Party) to 1789 (ratification of the U.S. Constitution.) All patriot, loyalist, Hessians, French, Native Americans or any other profiles with a connection to these years should be linked to an appropriate category in the Project.

If you haven’t already, please set your preferences for your Tags Followed to include 1776 Project and any other tag terms that you wish to follow: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

Some categories have a template (SAR) to add at the top of a biography. If not, add a category link by putting the category name such as Template:1776 for those who bore arms in the Revolution and Template:1776 for those who contributed patriotic or civil service. Thank you.
