Hi Martin

Thank you for touching base. I am very new to Wikitree and don't really understand the workings of it yet! I have a session next week with our library genealogists and am hoping to get some help in this area. Yes from my research we seem to come from the Angus area, fishermen and mariners etc. It is years since I spent any time in Scotland but am headed back there next May. Your photo does have a family resemblance and not only to Dad, but also to his only full sibling, older brother David Watson Coull. I have done my DNA on Ancestry only. I now live in beautiful Berry on the NSW south coast. Cheers Sheilagh

Hello again Martin, thanks for that information, but I seem to be conflicting with your tree. I have Alexander Coull marrying Helen Findlay in 1833 and his mother as Elspeth. I have the Findlay’s going back to before 1675. I must consult ScotlandsPeople again to see if I have the wrong spouse.

Have a look at my ancestry tree at https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/17519950/person/521549073/facts

Thanks Martin. Alexina Coull was my great grandmother. No doubt they will link up or whatever now that you have added her.

Good that tied in a Coull who .dissapeared when she got married. I have her parents and some siblings and her grand parents and some uncles but not aunts. Suspect the cost of a baptism may have been an issue in the mid 1700's. Have a look at my coull.me site You will find some of them there but have a lot more Coulls to add. Aim is to finish up to 1900 by 2030.

Best wishes Diane and Martin Coull Now living in Paynesville, Victoria, Australia on the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. Time UTC = +10 hours

Martin, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!

Lee - Volunteer Coordinator

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. That's awesome. Our GEDCOM process is a bit different than what might be used to on other sites. We have some great help pages to make your experience go more smoothly:

* Uploading vs. importing * What is GEDCompare? * Before importing a GEDCOM * After importing a GEDCOM

If you have any questions about your GEDCOM or our process, you can contact our GEDCOM Manager for assistance.

Thanks!

Hi Martin

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here. Michael F. Harris
