Biography

Sarah Coulson was born about 1725 in West Nottingham, Cecil, Maryland to parents Thomas Coulson and Martha Mary Wiley.

She married Joseph Rich on 27 Feb 1742 in Chester, Pennsylvania.[1]

She died on 31 May 1783 in West Nottingham, Cecil, Maryland, and was buried in the Harrisville Friends Cemetery in Harrisville, Cecil, Maryland.[2]

Geography

In 1701, all 18,000 acres of Nottingham lay in Chester County, PA. However, after the settlement of the Mason-Dixon Line in the late 1,760's, only 1,300 acres of the original Nottingham Lots remained in Chester County and the other 16,700 acres became part of Cecil County, Maryland.[3]
