Biography
William Courtenay the son and heir of Richard Courtenay and Thomasine Kendall was born around 1583 at Tremere, Cornwall.[1]
He married Jane Bassett on 22 July 1613 at Illogan, Cornwall.[1] Together they had eight children (possibly nine).

In 1641/2 he signed the Protestation Return swearing allegiance to the King.[5]
On 2 Jul 1642 he died of "Leas" (Latin for "the plague.")[6]

- Data on Nicolas b. 1630 can be found here. He was a Member of Parliament.
- In June 2023 I requested data about the Courtenay Society reference for William and received no reply from this PM. An email to that society was answered by their membership and research officer Felicity Harper on 29 Dec 2023 stating that they had no record of a Cornish connection in their printed database.
