Biography

Sir Hugh de Courtenay (b. 22 Mar 1327, d.v.p bt 20 Apr 1348 - 2 Sep 1349; bur. Forde Abbey, Dorsetshire)

It was probably this Hugh rather than his father who fought at the Battle of Crecy and was made one of the founding Knights of the Garter in 1348.[1][2][3][4]
