The 1880 census lists Anna as "Anna Hoffy," unmarried, and the sister-in-law of Robert Courtney. Was the census taker drinking that day?
The 1910 census lists Anna Yenni very much alive in Brooklyn, in spite of several familysearch.org records that indicate her death in 1901. And in 1920, Anna was living in Brooklyn with her son, Courtney Yenni.
On June 25, 1923, Anna Deming Yenni was issued a U. S. Passport in New York City. She "was born at Albany, in the State of New York, on 10 day of February, 1854 [sic], that my husband Frederick A. Yenni, was born in the U. S., NYC and ... died at Brooklyn NY Apr 18, 1901." She had previously traveled to France and England from Dec. 1911 to Jan. 1912. She intended to travel to France, Italy, England, Holland, Belgium, and Switzerland. Frederica A Walcott signed as a witness. Her physical description was
Age: 69 years old
Stature: 5 feet 3 inches
Forehead: medium
Eyes: blue
Nose: medium
Mouth: small
Chin: round
Hair: gray
Complexion: fair
Face: oval
She had also received passports on June 3, 1905, and Oct. 15, 1909. On both of these, she stated her birthday was Feb 10, 1855, and Dec. 10, 1855.
