Biography

William and Gertie lived all their married life at Canterbury till Gertie required Nursing Home Care . William lived at Beecroft with Marie and Ron for ten years. He lived five years after Ron died and lived two years after Gertie died on 28th April 1972. He died 1st December 1975.

In a letter dated the 21.8.1968 sent to Dave, Irene and Gwen by Ida McMillan (nee Courtney) after Thomas Ernest Courtney died, she said that Gertie will be 80 this year but was in a convalescent home.
