Biography

Catherine was born in 1847. She was the daughter of John Coutts and Barbara Coutts. She emigrated to Nelson, New Zealand on the Ocean Mail in 1874.

Catherine married Stephen Horton in 1876.^[1]

The children of Catherine and Stephen were: twins Phoebe and David, Joseph Stephen, Barbara and Frances Ann.^[2]

She passed away in 1923 at the age of 76 years old and is buried at Wakapuaka Cemetery, Nelson.^[3][4]
