Thomas Coventry was born in 1578.
Thomas was the eldest son of Sir Thomas Coventry, and his wife Margaret Jeffreys of Earls Croome or Croome D'Abitot, in Worcestershire.
He was appointed Attorney-General on 11 January 1621 and Lord Keeper on 1st November 1625, and created 1st Baron Coventry of Aylesborough on 10th April 1628.
Thomas was married to Sarah, the sister of Sir Edward Sebright, 1st Bt, of Besford in Worcestershire.
After Sarah's death he married the "lovely, young, rich" Elizabeth, the daughter of John Aldersey of Spurstow, Cheshire, the widow of William Pitchford.
Thomas Coventry died in 1640.
