George A. Cowan was born in Brookline, Massachusetts.

He married Orra Emma Bridgham between 1870 and 1877. She was born on July 27, 1848, in Leeds, Maine.

Mr. Cowan’s name does not appear with Orra Cowan in the 1880 census. Instead, she was living in her parents’ household in Plymouth, Maine in 1880. So it's possible that he died before 1880.
