His parents are listed William Cowles, age 30, born Oct 18 1898 in New York, and Margaret Cowles, age 28 born Sep 12 1900 in Easthampton, Long Island. [3]

William Cowles, formerly an architect and commercial apple grower in Vermont, William S. Cowles has resided on a ranch near Rowe, new Mexico, since 1984 after previously developing Sugarbush Valley, one of New England’s largest ski resorts and Pine Cay, a privately owned island turned exclusive resort in the British West Indies.[5]
