Oakley (20) married Mary Catherine Kingery (18) (born on May 21, 1902 in Red Rock, Marion, USA) on October 6, 1920 in Mahaska County, Iowa.[4] Their daughter was Edna Josephine Cowman (1921–2000).
In 1925, Oakley (25) was living in Pella, Marion. [5]
In 1930, Oakley (30) was living in Fairview, Jasper, Iowa. [6]
In 1940, Oakley (40) was living in Red Rock Township, Marion. [7]
Oakley died on February 26, 1976 in Monroe, Jasper, aged 75.[8][9] He was buried in Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, Iowa.
