Proprietor of the grist mill, Bridgeman's Mills, near Knoxville Tennessee. Moved with his father to Southern Indiana about 1821. He was an itinerant Baptist preacher in Monroe County, Indiana. Lived about four miles from Bloomington, the seat of Indiana University, where most of his sons were educated.
