James A was born in 1778 to John Cox or Cocks (1740-1821) and possibly Mary (Polly) Unknown. This Cox line has been placed in Haplogroup J2 and are Welsh. About 1808 James and brothers left VA and came to Wilson Co. TN, (now Cannon). James A Cox passed away in 1842, Cannon Co., TN.
