Biography

Braxton is the son of Ambrose Cox Jr and Elizabeth Sumpter. He married Ursula Jennings 1 November 1859 in Floyd County. Braxton enlisted with Company B 54th Regiment of the Virginia Infantry CSA, 24 March 1862 in Richmond. He died of pneumonia 28 January 1863 in Petersburg, VA. He's buried in the Blanford Church Cemetery.[1]
