Louisa Ellen Cox, daughter of Franklin and Mary Cox, was born about 1854 in South Carolina. She appeared on the census of 21 July 1860 in the home of her parents at Marshall County, Alabama.[1] She appeared on the census of 12 July 1870 in the home of her mother at Perreys, Jackson County, Alabama. They were living next to her brother John Cox.[2]
She married James R. McLemore on 2 Feb. 1875 at the residence of John Cox at Jackson County, Alabama. Thomas McLemore and James signed the bond.[3]
She and James appeared on the census of 1 June 1880 at Jackson County, Alabama. Her mother was living with them. Living next door was George W. Cox, brother of Louise.[4]
