William Marion Cox, son of Edward and Polly Cox, was born on 1 June 1827 in South Carolina.[1] He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 26 Oct. 1850 in the home of his parents at McLemore Cove, Walker County, Georgia.[2]
He married Sarah Ann Elizabeth Miller, daughter of William Godwin Miller and Sarah (Glasson) Miller, on 21 June 1851[1] at Walton County, Georgia.[3]
He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 23 July 1860 at Gwinnett County, Georgia.[4] He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 24 June 1870 at Goodwin, Gwinnett County, Georgia.[5] He was a farmer when he and Sarah appeared on the census of 11 June 1880 at Goodwins, Gwinnett County, Georgia.[6]
William died on 17 Feb. 1899 at Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia and was buried at Cassville Cemetery, Cassville, Bartow County, Georgia. His memorial has photos, a transcription of his obituary, biographical material and links to those of family members.[1]
