Biography
Rankin Cox, son of David Cox and Margaret Ann “Peggy” (McGowen) Cox, was born on 30 Nov. 1783 in Grayson County, Virginia.[1]
He married Mary “Polly” Burton, daughter of John Pleasant Burton and Susannah (Stamper) Burton, in 1815.[1]
in Lawrence County, Indiana and was buried at Carl Isom Farm Cemetery, Mitchell, Lawrence County, Indiana. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
